Ever heard of Chukka boots? No? Maybe??
You probably don’t know that’s the name for the shoe you like to wear so much because it goes with virtually anything – jeans, chinos, and even plain pants.
The shoe I’m referring to is the one that comes in mostly leather or suede. It’s mostly ankle-length, and they often have just two or three eyelets and a round toe-box.
We can’t forget the comfort and style they provide too. Very important.
The origin of the boots are not so clear. For some, the chukka boots originated among the British soldiers in India, who usually played polo with it.
Some others claim soldiers from South Africa first started wearing it, but whatever the origin of the boots, they’re quickly becoming an integral part of men’s footwear.
Chukka boots, unlike some other shoes, can be worn on a wide variety of clothes including jeans. This raises the question: how do I wear Chukkas with jeans?
You’ll find a few answers and combination ideas to try out below…
How To Wear Chukka Boots With Jeans
There’s not much that goes into it, seeing as Chukkas plus jeans equal “makes sense”. In the lines below, I shared some tips on how to wear chukka boots with jeans.
Starting easy, Chukka boots can be – and usually are – worn on jeans.
It gives a really casual and neat look, especially those made of suede—there’s this aura of ‘fine guy’ look that this combination always pulls off.
Even the leather chukka boots are not left out of the mix. In fact, they give off a more serious and demanding look and are great for casual business meetings or events.
Any color of the shoe can go with jeans, the trick is matching or complementing the colors involved in your look.
For instance, a brown, black, or grey Chukka boot would go with any color of the cloth on you.
However, suppose you got yourself a green-colored chukka boot, heads will roll if you chose to pair it with a red or blue shirt.
Dark-colored jeans paired with tan-colored Chukkas enhance both pieces. It’s a sort of complementary outfit that looks good and easy on the eyes.
Plain shirts are a safe way to go, both for your jeans and the boots, however, make sure your shirt complements the boots although this isn’t a must.
For instance, you will draw unnecessary attention if you wear a light blue shirt with green chukka boots and black trousers.
Add a bit of style to your look by rolling up the edge of your jean trousers or even a jean jacket, so that the inner part shows a bit.
Looking good could be a bit of trouble especially when one is searching for what piece goes with what. These are tiny bits of things every man should learn.
One of several ways to learn how to complement and combine colors is to invest in fashion magazines. In addition to that, if you have a role model, you can look up their styles and learn from them as well.
